Sharyn Sowell
Rubber Stamping & Card Making
Sharyn Sowell’s stamp art is translated from her hand-cut silhouette designs that begin with a sheet of paper and her beloved scissors.
Sharyn discovered paper cutting as a way to amuse her children during long fishing trips with her husband. She began by cutting Noah’s ark and a zoo full of animals.
A new license with All Night Media® for 2005, Sharyn’s work can be found on tableware, greeting cards, needlework kits, and more.
Sharyn interprets the world through her scissors as she finds whimsy in old family photos, birds’ nests and other everyday wonders. “My work celebrates the miracles we see every day if we open our lives to simple pleasures,” says Sharyn, who agrees with Hans Christian Andersen that “real life is the best fairy tale.”
Sharyn’s been featured on NBC-tv, in Mary Engelbreit’s Home Companion Magazine and Victoria Magazine, and her work has been seen in galleries and museums nationwide.
