Two Needles
Bucilla Needle Crafts
Linda Queen and Wanda Burnett, a.k.a. the Two Needles, have been involved in the needlecraft industry for more than 20 years!
In 1978 they began with a retail shop in North Carolina, which specialized in custom design. Encouraged by the local success of their business, they began a wholesale company that sold their original designs.
Recently Two Needles has partnered with Plaid to promote the Bucilla line of needlecrafts and create needlecraft collections for stitchers of every level. "It's an exciting pep rally," they say, "and a familiar one." For more than 20 years they've been promoting the needlecrafts industry through their monthly column, "Shop Talk" in CraftTrends magazine. Their fans know them for their humor and down to earth advice about running a needlecraft business. From these columns came a book, "For the Love AND Money", and the opportunity to "talk" on all matters, personal and professional.
This dynamic duo loves all aspects of their job - the products, the people, and working together. However, through their years of designing they do admit to a few craft disasters. Coffee spilled on a sampler gave a nice antiqued look, but unfortunately grape juice did not have that same effect.
Throughout their columns and other writings, their advice to new designers remains simple - "Do it if you love it." Do it if it excites you to see an idea take form. Do it with the idea of someone or something you care about firmly in mind. Have fun and take joy in the doing, and it will show!
Watch for articles by the Two Needles on plaidonline.com. They'll drop by periodically to share their thoughts on needlecrafts and the latest trends.
