On what surfaces can I use FolkArt® Texture Paint?

FolkArt® Texture Paint can be used on wood, terra cotta, paper mache, Styrofoam and most porous surfaces.

How should I apply FolkArt® Texture Paint?

FolkArt® Texture Paint can be applied with a palette knife, a paint brush or a stencil brush. When using a paint brush or stencil brush, use a dabbing motion to get the most textured effect.

Can I paint or antique FolkArt® Texture Paint?

Yes, FolkArt® Texture Paint can be painted or antiqued after it has cured to change the color or finished look.

How long does it take for FolkArt® Texture Paint to dry/cure?

FolkArt® Texture Paints dry in 24 hours. Total cure time is between 48 to 72 hours depending on the thickness of the paint and the humidity.

Can I speed up the drying process of FolkArt® Texture Paint using a fan or hair dryer?

We recommend air drying the FolkArt® Texture Paint. Using a fan or hair dryer may remove the moisture from the paint too quickly and cause the paint to crack.

How should I clean up after using FolkArt® Texture Paint?

Clean brushes or applicators (brushes, palette knife) while wet with soap and water.

Can I tint FolkArt® Texture Paint with other paints?

No, tinting FolkArt® Texture Paint with other paints may change the properties of the Texture Paint.

Can FolkArt® Texture Paint be used on outdoor surfaces and projects?

Yes, FolkArt® Texture Paint can be used on outdoor surfaces and projects if they are protected from the elements. If they will be exposed to the elements, they need to be sealed with FolkArt® Outdoor Varnish.

Do I have to seal FolkArt® Texture Paint?

No, it is self sealing. If it will be exposed to the elements outdoors, it should be sealed with FolkArt® Outdoor Varnish.

Can FolkArt® Texture Paint be applied to a flexible surface?

FolkArt® Texture Paint should not be applied to flexible surfaces because it may crack.
