Assistant Controller

Department: Finance
Location: Norcross, GA

The Assistant Controller will serve as a business partner and problem solver with strategic issues facing the Company and a hands-on designer of the accounting and financial functions. You will be responsible for a broad range of activities that support the financial effectiveness and excellence of the company. As a strong communicator and skilled financial professional, you will make it your mission to streamline our inventory management, monthly close process, vendor payments, and financial reporting processes. You will produce thorough financial-status reports and critical analyses for the CFO to make an actionable recommendation to aid in our continued top-line and bottom-line growth.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist with monthly closing of financials.
  • Validate and review data from all reporting sources for accuracy and validity.
  • Perform variance analysis to forecast and budget.
  • Develop financial models to analyze the business.
  • Take the lead in preparing the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
  • Analyze expenses throughout multiple departments.
  • Assist in modeling balance sheet accounts in preparation of cash flow statements.
  • Review manufacturing variances with operations to understand cost drivers and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Develop performance metrics for manufacturing and distribution to improve efficiency.
  • Prepare schedule and analysis for monthly and quarterly reports for the board of directors.
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with managers from all departments to identify their needs and seek a full range of business solutions.

Minimum Requirements

  • A minimum of 8 years of demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations is a must.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Exposure to practices and requirements of major retailers.
  • Hands-on full-cycle US GAAP Accounting experience, including delivering a full set of financial statements monthly.

  • Advanced degree
  • Public Accounting (Big Four) Experience.
  • CPA
