FREELANCE CONTENT CREATOR

Department: MARKETING
Location: Norcross, GA

Freelance creator position for industry-leading consumer products arts & crafts company; whose products are sold through mass, specialty, and e-commerce retail channels throughout the world.


Reports to:  Director of Marketing

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create innovative, trend right content to inspire the end consumer to purchase Plaid products
    • Product – product development testing, projects for sales presentations, product packaging, trade shows, and catalogs.  Recommend new product ideas, techniques
    • Presentation – projects for retail point of sale signage, customer specific marketing campaigns, and in-store signage
    • Digital Marketing – projects for social media and monetization campaigns, website inspiration, e-commerce assets  
    • Content will include physical projects, instructions, step-outs for photography, and video
  • Utilize craft decorating skills and knowledge of color and design to complete projects across a wide variety of crafts including painting, stenciling, decoupage, costuming, and general crafts as projects arise.
  • Collaborate with team members, including Design, Marketing, and Communications to ensure a complete understanding of the vision for the final project is executed to meet the objectives and timeline
  • Provide instructions and step-by-steps suitable for publishing in a variety of mediums – printed, website, social media, and video.  Potential for on-camera presentation of projects and how-to’s.
  • Maintain and promote the knowledge of both basic and the latest techniques in the Craft Industry.  Develop new techniques using past, present, and future products
  • Network and establish relationships with influencers and freelance crafters to expand Plaid’s resources, and stay up-to-date on trends in crafts, materials, techniques, and projects.
  • Develop an understanding and have the ability to execute projects to support Plaid’s strategic design partners and licenses to ensure projects created for designer vision is delivered appropriately.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Expert at craft decorating techniques Must be the go-to marketing expert in how-to use Plaid products.   As trends change, lead the vision to create new ways to use Plaid products and develop new craft techniques
  • Project management skills, must be highly organized and able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Detail oriented to enable management and execution across a wide range of products and tight deadlines
  • Highly motivated team member with a positive and professional attitude, excellent communication skills, leadership ability, flexibility, and service focus
  • Computer Skills –Word, Excel, Internet, Social Media, knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop a plus
  • Excellent Communication and Writing Skills
  • BS Degree in Design, Fine Arts, Art Education, Industrial Design, or Interior Design a plus
