Video Editor Specialist

Plaid Enterprises is a leading manufacturer of consumer products in the Craft and DIY category with national brands including Mod Podge, FolkArt, Apple Barrel, and Bucilla. We are a fully integrated in-house creative marketing team.

The Video Editor Specialist is a dynamic and creative individual, responsible for the effective shooting, editing and delivery of video and multimedia digital assets. Duties include video editing, production, and creation of digital assets for web and social media. This role will also be responsible for organizing sets, preparing video equipment, filming live streams, creating short and long form content videos.

Reports to:   Kyra Balentine, Director of Marketing

Primary Responsibilities

  • Edit video and sound projects, including selecting program format for final output, capturing/importing media, organizing raw media, editing footage and sound files, creating and inserting static and motion graphics, titling, adding music/voice-over, equipment management and asset archiving.
  • Work collaboratively with the product teams and the communication team - brand, social, and digital counterparts to help conceptualize and produce engaging digital content for Plaid channels.
  • Assist in producing and shooting videos and livestreams.
  • Ensure that all content meets established editorial, quality, and brand voice standards.
  • Stay abreast of social media and ecommerce developments and research best-in-class examples.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA in Film Studies or Cinematography
  • 1-2 years of experience with strong portfolio of video editing and production in a digital, to consumer function.
  • Core knowledge of social media channels and how to effectively create channel specific content.
  • Must demonstrate strong clear, concise editing skills.
  • Good eye for design and visual aesthetics.
  • Excellent organization, project and timeline management abilities.
  • Manage multiple projects from concept through to completion. Great attention to detail.
  • Enthusiastic self-starter and passionate personality who enjoys telling stories visually.
  • Works well as part of a team.
  • Strong computer skills
    • Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Adobe Premiere, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
    • Davinci Resolve is a plus
  • Knowledge of crafting, painting, DIY or on-air talent is a plus
