I am planning some stamp projects on wood, paper mache, shrink plastic and other surfaces. What inks are appropriate?
There are two types of ink that are versatile for different surfaces. Dye inks are great for wood, shrink plastic, paper mache, clay pots and many other surfaces in addition to paper. They are acid-free, permanent, fade-resistant and water resistant, making them easy to use with watercolor pencils and markers.
An alternate to try is pigment ink, especially if you’d like to emboss on your project. Pigment inks will be permanent with heat setting and are ideal for use with fabric, wood, shrink plastic, stencils and more. Stamping is not just for paper, so try these inks on a variety of surfaces!
