I want to create a scrapbook but I don’t know where to start. Help!
The very first thing you should do is organize your photos. Once you have an idea of how many photos you want to use and whether you want to build your book around a theme you can pick out a scrapbook.
Albums range in size from very large to small and are available in several types of bindings. Post bound, strap bound and three ring binders are all popular styles that allow you to add pages. Spiral bound albums are also very popular but pages can only be ripped out, not added.
Next you want to find an adhesive that is acid free; this will help protect your pages and pictures from yellowing. Pens and markers with archive quality ink will also come in handy for adding names, dates, titles and other details about your photos.
Sharp scissors are must so that you can crop your pictures. Decorative edge scissors can help you add detail as you crop out extra background.
If you decide to add decorative paper or other embellishments to your page make sure you look for the “acid free” designation. Using products that are not considered acid free may cause yellowing and other discoloration.
Finally, get creative! Play with different lay out ideas and don’t be afraid to use other craft supplies like paper punches and rubber stamps to decorate your pages
