What are crimp beads / tubes and how do I use them?
Crimp beads / tubes are small metal beads used to finish pieces made with stringing materials that do not knot well (example flexible beading wire).
To use, simply slide a crimp onto a piece of beading wire. Next string one half of a clasp set (lobster, toggle, etc). Thread beading wire around loop on clasp and back through the crimp, making sure to leave 1/4" - 1/2" of excess wire on end. This excess wire will be threaded back through the first few beads on the jewelry piece. Next flatten the crimp bead using a crimp tool or flat nosed pliers. Give the beading wire a good tug to ensure it is secure. String desired pattern of beads onto wire, making sure 1/4" - 1/2" tail of wire is strung through first few beads. Repeat previous steps on end of beaded wire to complete jewelry piece.
