Can I use FolkArt® and Apple Barrel paint on plaster?
Yes, you can use both FolkArt® and Apple Barrel paint on plaster. However, because plaster is very porous and sometimes dusty, you will need to first seal the piece with a clear acrylic matte spray sealer.
How are FolkArt® Enamels different from Apple Barrel Gloss?
FolkArt® Enamels are a unique polymer blend that is specially formulated for use on glass and ceramics. They are highly pigmented for excellent opaque coverage
You can achieve a durable, opaque, glossy sheen with one-step – there is no primer or finish needed. The paints can be mixed and blended, making them perfect for the One Stroke method.
When dried and cured, projects painted with FolkArt® Enamels are top-shelf dishwasher safe! When washed correctly, they will not chip, crack, or fade.

Apple Barrel Paints brush smoothly and dry quickly when basecoating, yet they can be used to stamp, stencil and hand paint a project.
How can I clean my brushes after using Apple Barrel Paints?
Apple Barrel Paints are a water base paint, so clean up is simple with soap and water.
How is FolkArt® Outdoor™ different from Apple Barrel Gloss™?
FolkArt® Outdoor™ paints are formulated with rich and creamy consistencies in true artists palettes that deliver high hide with UV protection and weather resistance that makes this paint the perfect paint for outdoor use. It is self-sealing, no primers, sealers or varnishes are required. FolkArt® Outdoor paints can be applied on a variety of surfaces such as metal, terra cotta, wood, concrete, galvanized tin and more. It dries to a satin finish and is waterbased so clean up is easy with mild soap and water.
Apple Barrel Gloss paints offer a bright and clean color palette. They too are formulated to be weather resistant, can be used outdoors, and work well on the same types of surfaces. However, Apple Barrel Gloss paints dry with strong colors and a high gloss finish.
What is the difference between FolkArt® and Apple Barrel paint?
Apple Barrel is an all-purpose acrylic craft paint. It works great on craft surfaces including Styrofoam, wood, paper, terra cotta and canvas.

FolkArt paint is a high quality pre-mixed acrylic paint with a rich and creamy consistency. FolkArt is a favorite of decorative painters and artists.
Can Apple Barrel Paints be used with children?
Yes, Apple Barrel Paints are perfect for school projects – they are the best paint on the market to paint on Styrofoam! Apple Barrel Paints are also perfect for “mom and me” projects or for the general basic crafter.
Are items painted with Apple Barrel Gloss mircrowaveable?
No.
Can Apple Barrel Paint colors be mixed?
Yes, Apple Barrels paints can be mixed to create a new color value or hue. 
How do I cure glass or ceramics painted with Apple Barrel Multi-Surface Satin Acrylic Paint?
There are two types of curing methods that can be used with Apple Barrel Multi-Surface Satin Acrylic Paint: baking and air drying. NOTE: Please use the bake method for items you intend to wash in the top rack of your dishwasher. 

Bake Method:
  1. Allow painted item to dry for 24 hours to be sure all layers of paint have dried.
  2. Place project in a cool oven, as the glass must heat gradually with the oven to avoid breakage; do not place glass in a hot oven.
  3. Set oven temperature to 350ºF.
  4. Once temperature has reached 350ºF, allow the project to bake for 30 minutes.
  5. After 30 minutes, turn the oven off and let glass cool down completely before removing from the oven.
  6. Do not use for 72 hours.
Air Dry Method: Paint is cured to the surface after 21 days; however, the air-dried projects are NOT suitable for use in the top rack of your dishwasher.
