FAQs

Are Gallery Glass products okay for kids to use?
Gallery Glass Window Color is a non-toxic, water-based product line perfect for children’s art projects such as preformed sun catchers, or magnet photo frames with adult supervision. The AP Seal on all Gallery Glass products indicates they are non-toxic and safe.
Are there any tips for applying Gallery Glass® Window Color™ to my window?
  • Start at the top left corner of the window and apply color to one section at a time.
  • Run a thin line of paint across the top of the section, wiggling the tip back and forth as you move to the right.
  • Be sure to cover the corners and apply paint thickly enough to prevent light from showing through.
  • For a more textured or cathedral glass look, use a figure 8 motion.
Can Gallery Glass Window Color be used on outdoor surfaces and displayed outdoors?

No, Gallery Glass Window Color is recommended for indoor use only. It is not formulated for outdoors; high humidity areas (such as bathrooms, storm doors, etc.); automobile glass; or areas exposed to extreme temperatures—i.e., below 45°F (7.2° C) or above 90°F (32.2°C).

Can I completely change a Window Color™ after it has dried?
You can remove just one or a few painted sections that you wish to repaint.
When the paint is completely dry, remove the Window Cling from the Leading Blank or plastic, and use small scissors to cut the paint as close as possible to the lead line and remove it.
Place the Window Cling on plastic again, press flat, and apply another color. Let the new color dry thoroughly.
Do I need to clean my surface or window before applying Gallery Glass® Window Color™?
Yes. Prior to beginning your project, clean surface with window cleaner and dry thoroughly.
How can I create a darker shade of Gallery Glass® Window Color™?
To intensify or darken a color, apply another layer of paint after the first one dries.
How can I create a lighter shade of Gallery Glass® Window Color™?
To lighten a color, mix with Crystal Clear or Snow White.
How can I get a frosted appearance with Gallery Glass®?
For a smooth frosted look, dab Clear Frost paint on the surface with a bristle brush, covering the section with a thin coat. Brush the paint up into the leading to seal it in place. The frosted look will appear as the paint dries.
How can I get rid of the bubbles in my bottles of Gallery Glass Window Color?
It is best to store your bottles of Gallery Glass Window Color upside-down. This way any air in the bottle will move to the bottom, ensuring that there are no bubbles in the actual paint.
How do I get a marbleized appearance to my Gallery Glass® Window Color™?
To marbleize, apply the main color first. While still wet, place dots of a contrasting color randomly in the section of the design. Swirl the background color around and through the dots with a combing tool. Do not mix colors completely.
