FAQs

How do I decoupage with napkins or tissue paper?
First check to see if the napkin is 2 ply. If so, separate and lay aside. Brush Mod Podge directly on the your surface. Carefully place the printed napkin on the surface and lightly blot down with a dampened sponge. Start blotting in the center and work to the edge. Once it is in place, let dry. After about 30 minutes lightly apply a top coat of Mod Podge.
How do I paint a globe ornament with Gallery Glass without smearing the paint?
There are two ways to paint these ornaments. The first is to paint one side, let it dry for eight hours and then paint the other side, again allowing it to dry for eight hours. Or, you can suspend the ornament to paint it, holding it at the top to twirl it around as you go. Once you've completed your ornaments, it is recommended that you hang them when you store them. This will help keep your paint from getting scratched or chipped.
How do you clean stencil brushes?
1. Dip tips of bristles into brush cleaner. To activate cleaner, dip brush in water. Never soak a stencil brush in water.
2. Work the brush on the scrubber in the lid of the brush cleaner. Add more water if needed to make a foam lather. Rinse clean with running water. Blot brush on a towel to remove as much water as possible.
3. On larger brushes, loop a rubber band around bristle tips and roll it to the ends of the bristles to keep bristles from splaying. Place brushes on their sides to dry. When dry, store flat or on the handle ends with bristles up. Brushes must be completely dry before re-use.
How do you paint One Stroke™ branches using the flat brush?
Load the brush with Burnt Umber and Wicker White. Touch brush to surface at an angle.
Lead with light color and pull, twist, release as you make an uneven line.
Release pressure and lift at end of branch. If you run out of paint, reload and begin slightly overlapping end of last stroke.
How many bottles of Waverly Inspirations Chalk do I need for my project?

What are Mod Podge Decoupage Brushes?
Mod Podge Decoupage Brushes are the perfect applicators to use when decoupaging papers or fabrics onto surfaces with tight, detailed areas such as ornate frames, statuary, and figurines. Created with short, golden Taklon bristles, these brushes make it easier to press materials into tight surface creases. Mod Podge Decoupage Brushes are available in a three brush set.

How do I apply paper inside glass or acrylic?
  1. Apply a coat of Mod Podge® to the inside of the form and allow to dry slightly. Place the Napkin design where desired and gently rub it flat with your thumb.
  2. Cover the image with a second very thin coat of Mod Podge®, beginning in the center and brushing out. Allow to dry thoroughly.
  3. Add special sponging or spouncing effects, as desired, around the design and let dry.
  4. Paint the whole inside with a light color of FolkArt® Acrylic Colors. If you want to use a darker color inside, first paint around the Napkin design with a light color, let dry and then add the darker color.
