FAQs

Can I use a hair dryer or forced air to speed up the dry time when stenciling?
Absolutely, forced air will help to speed drying time not only on the stenciled surface, but also on the paper stencil itself if it is to be repeated.
Can I use a stencil when creating with Leather Studio™ paints?
Yes, Leather Studio™ paints work beautifully with stencils and even better with flexible, adhesive stencils. However, because the paint will dry as a film on the stencil, all stencils should be cleaned immediately while Leather Studio paints are wet with warm soapy water.
If Leather Studio™ paints have dried to the stencil, rubbing alcohol may assist in cleaning the stencil.
Do I need to prep my surface before applying Waverly Inspirations Chalk?
The benefit of painting with Waverly Inspirations Chalk is that no prep work such as sanding, stripping or priming is needed.
When painting on previously used furniture, simply clean the surface using a glass cleaner to remove dirt or dust particles. When painting on glass surfaces, make sure to clean surface using rubbing alcohol.
How can Apple Barrel Paints be used when crafting?
Apple Barrel Paints brush smoothly and dry quickly when basecoating, yet they can be used to stamp, stencil and hand paint a project.
How do I paint a One Stroke™ teardrop petal?
Load the flat brush with Dioxazine Purple and School Bus Yellow. Touch chisel edge of brush.
Pull the brush into a curve.
End brush on the chisel edge.
Can I completely change a Window Color™ after it has dried?
You can remove just one or a few painted sections that you wish to repaint.
When the paint is completely dry, remove the Window Cling from the Leading Blank or plastic, and use small scissors to cut the paint as close as possible to the lead line and remove it.
Place the Window Cling on plastic again, press flat, and apply another color. Let the new color dry thoroughly.
Can I use magazine, gift wrap or book pages with Mod Podge?
Yes, however you need to check to make sure that the ink will not smear. Test a small piece before starting your Mod Podge project. You can also add additional protection, by spraying the front and back of these papers with an acrylic sealer such as Mod Podge Clear Acrylic Spray, and let dry. Be sure to test the sealer first on the paper you want to use before continuing with Mod Podge.
Can Leather Studio™ paint colors mixed together?
Yes, Leather Studio paints can be mixed with one another to create a new color or values of the same color.
Do I shake or stir Waverly Inspirations Chalk before using?
Stir well to incorporate the paint. Use straight from the bottle or pour a small amount onto a palette.
Do you have any tips for determining the different colors of floss that come in the Bucilla kits?
The best way is to lay all of the strands out from light to dark. The instructional chart included in your kit will tell you how many yards of each color are in the kit so be sure the check the yardage when determining colors.
