FAQs

How do I care for and store my Bucilla project?
To keep clean between seasons, wrap in white tissue paper and put in a cotton pillow case or cotton sheeting.
If item gets soiled, spot clean with a mild diluted dishwashing liquid. Lightly blot the area and lay flat to dry.
How do I stitch a straight stitch in cross stitch?
Straight stitches are stitched the same as the length of the line segment on the Design Chart.
Come up at A; go down at B. Pull flat. Repeat A – B for each stitch. Straight stitches can be worked in a vertical, horizontal, or diagonal direction.
How do you load the One Stroke™ script liner?
Thin your paint with water to an inky consistency. Load brush by rolling it in the paint puddle.
When the brush is loaded with paint, twist and roll out of the puddle.
How shall I clean my cured Leather Studio™ paint projects?
Completed and cured Leather Studio projects can be washed lightly wiping over the painted surface with a moistened cloth using mild soap and water.
What does "dry-wipe" mean?
A technique used to clean the brush without rinsing it in water. Place your brush between the folds of the paper towel, press down and gently pull the brush out.
What is an opaque stencil print?
An opaque stencil print is a stenciled out image of the design with intense color build-up and without shading or tone variance. This style of stenciling is very effective with bright or primary colors.
How can I get rid of the paint build up on a paper stencil that has been used many times?
Paper stencils are not intended for life-long uses. If your stencil is well used and paint has built up over the design with use, you might be ready for a new paper stencil or you may try this tip: gently sand the dried paint build up with a very fine grit sandpaper.
How do I determine how many strands of each color I will need for each stitch in my Bucilla needlecraft project?
Refer to the color symbol guide in the instructions. Look in the third column (the column with the hands separating the floss). The number in that column tells you how many strands you’ll need for each color in each stitch.
How do you create a french knot in cross stitch?
These are decorative knots completed after all other stitching is finished.
Come up at A; loosely wrap floss once around needle. Place needle at B, next to A. Pull floss taut as you push needle down through fabric. Carry floss across back of work between knots.
How do you paint a One Stroke™ daisy?
Load the flat brush with School Bus Yellow OR School Bus Yellow and Wicker White. Touch chisel edge of brush to surface and lean.
Pull brush towards you. Push slightly to widen stroke. End up on chisel and lift.
Make these teardrop strokes in a circle to create the daisy. Make strokes at various angles.
Use the brush handle to dot a center in daisy.
