How do I prepare my surface for use with Martha Stewart Crafts ® Multi-Surface Chalkboard Acrylic Craft Paint.
Wood – Sand smooth with fine grit sandpaper, wipe off sawdust. Papier-Mâché – Wipe clean with damp cloth. Terra Cotta – Wipe clean; seal pot interior with paint or 2 coats of Martha Stewart Crafts Sprayable Satin or Gloss Enamel Finish. Canvas – Wipe primed canvas clean; if unprimed, apply 2 coats of gesso primer. Plaster – Wipe clean with damp cloth. Tin – Although not porous, proper preparation makes tin amenable to chalkboard paint. Wash with soap and water, then wipe with a white vinegar dampened cloth. Basecoat with Martha Stewart Crafts Paint. Chalkboard paint can be applied once the surface is dry.
My Mod Podge surface is still sticky after it dries. What do I do?
Hard Coat Mod Podge dries clear with a non-tacky surface. If using Gloss, Matte or Satin Mod Podge apply a clear acrylic sealer to the surface after it has cured 4 weeks.
How can I achieve a high shine finish on my decoupage project?
If you would like to achieve a high shine finish, complete your decoupage project in the traditional way, applying two top coats of decoupage finish to the completed design. Wait one week for the finish to cure, then spray the project with Mod Podge Acrylic Spray Gloss Sealer.
What tools or supplies should I have on hand when applying Martha Stewart Crafts ® Gilding?
When gilding a project, you will need Martha Stewart Crafts Gilding Adhesive, Martha Stewart Crafts Gilding Brushes, and Martha Stewart Crafts Gilding Gloves, and for an optional finish, the Martha Stewart Crafts Gloss Enamel Spray.
What is the difference between Martha Stewart Crafts Vintage Decor paint and Martha Stewart Crafts Multi-Surface Craft paint?
Martha Stewart Crafts Multi-Surface Craft Paint is a durable, premium, multi-surface acrylic paint that is both dishwasher and machine washer safe. It is perfect for both painting and stenciling and comes in several specialty finishes such as high gloss, satin, metallic, glow-in the dark, and chalkboard.
Martha Stewart Crafts Vintage Decor paint is a high quality paint designed for painting and distressing furniture and home décor accessories. It does not require any project preparation such as priming, sanding, or stripping. It dries to a matte chalk finish, can be finished and polished with waxes, and is formulated for easy sanding and distressing.
How should I apply Mod Podge Sparkle to my project?
It is best to brush a coat of Mod Podge onto the project surface as well as evenly over the back of the paper to be decoupaged. Flip the paper over, place it onto the project surface joining glue to glue; and then press to smooth out any wrinkles or captured air pockets using a Mod Podge Brayer or Squeegee.

For a smooth application of paper to the project surface, use Mod Podge Matte or Gloss to adhere the paper. Although Mod Podge Sparkle can be used to adhere the paper, the added dimension of the glitter particles may interfere if using thin, lightweight paper. Allow to dry 15–20 minutes before applying a topcoat of Mod Podge Sparkle.

For a simple and quick finish, apply a smooth, moderate layer of Mod Podge Sparkle to the decoupaged surface. If additional glitter effects is desired, brush on additional coats allowing ample dry time between applications. If desired, a light spray of Mod Podge Acrylic Sealer can be applied as a final topcoat for additional protection.

NOTE: Mod Podge Acrylic Sealer will alter the sheen of Mod Podge Sparkle.

Why does resin stick to my Mod Podge Silicone Mold?
Silicone molds do not last forever. Over time they will dry out, become brittle, and tear easily with continued use. Use of a mold release can help resin pop out easily. NOTE: A resin that has not been properly mixed or undermixed will stick to a Silicone Mold; so be sure to follow all Mod Podge Resin instructions. Also, when using a torch too close to a Silicone Mold, it may cause Mod Podge Resin to stick.

Note: All Mod Podge Silicone Molds are polished to a smooth shiny finish. This will ensure a clear, high-shine gloss surface to a poured Mod Podge Resin once it has cured and then released from the mold.
Mod Podge Silicone Molds are manufactured from a translucent silicone rubber enabling the crafter to see Mod Podge Resin as it is poured into the mold. This translucent mold allows the crafter the ability to properly fill the mold and to check for possible bubbles at the bottom of the mold.

Does FolkArt Pre-Mixed Pouring Paint hold up well on outdoor surfaces?
No, FolkArt Pre-Mixed Pouring Paint should be used on indoor surfaces only as it is not designed to be permanent outdoor without an outdoor sealer or varnish applied.  When decorating an outdoor surface with FolkArt Pre-Mixed Pouring Paint, the completed project should be varnished with an outdoor varnish such as FolkArt Outdoor Sealers available in Matte, Satin or Gloss finishes.
Should I seal my completed Mandala Dot-By-Number project?
It is not necessary, however, for added protection against dust or dirt, a light coat or two of Patricia Nimocks Clear Acrylic Sealer (in matte, satin or gloss) may be lightly applied.
