Is it better to apply thin coats or thick coats of the FolkArt® Chalkboard Paint?

It is best to apply several thin coats of paint, allowing the paint to dry between coats.

Can I mix FolkArt® Chalkboard Paint with water, mediums or acrylic paints?

No, FolkArt® Chalkboard Paint should not be mixed with water, mediums or other acrylic paints. Mixing with anything other than other FolkArt® Chalkboard Paints will destroy the properties that make the paint work as a chalkboard surface.

Is FolkArt Multi-Surface Satin Acrylic Paint food safe?

Although the paint is non-toxic, it should never come in contact with food. When painting a glass, keep painted design below 8/10" or 2 cm from the lip; and when painting plates, paint only on the rim of the plate that will not come in contact with food or reverse glass pain...

What is FolkArt Color Shift Acrylic Paint?

FolkArt Color Shift Paint is a water-based, easy-to-brush-on paint that when applied to a surface, the paint produces a metallic luster. This metallic luster will shift colors as the direction of light on the painted surface changes.   

Can I apply more FolkArt® Chalkboard Paint after 24 hours?

Yes, you can apply more FolkArt® Chalkboard Paint after 24 hours, but it will then need to cure for another 24 hours before being used.

Is FolkArt Multi-Surface Satin Paint permanent on glass or ceramics?

The paint is developed with extra adhesive properties making it a perfect paint for glass painting without using a primer or sealer. To ensure extra durability, it is recommended that painted glass/ceramics be cured by baking.

Can I tint FolkArt® Texture Paint with other paints?

No, tinting FolkArt® Texture Paint with other paints may change the properties of the Texture Paint.

What makes FolkArt Pre-Mixed Pouring Paint different from other craft paints?

FolkArt Pre-Mixed Pouring Paint is specifically formulated as a fluid, medium-body acrylic paint which is easily poured, spread, and swirled to create a variety of poured paint effects including marbleized effects without colors becoming overmixed or muddied.

Can I use FolkArt paint on plaster?

Yes, you can use both FolkArt paint on plaster. However, because plaster is very porous and sometimes dusty, you will need to first seal the piece with a clear acrylic matte spray sealer.
