What is the FolkArt® Enamels Clear Medium used for?
FolkArt® Enamels Clear Medium is used to create a transparent look without compromising the paint’s adhesion. It can also be used with the double-load technique to achieve just the right paint consistency for effects such as shadows and shading. FolkArt® Enamels Clear Medium can be used to seal painted areas as well.
Does FolkArt Enamels Frosted Glass Paint hold up well on outdoor surfaces?
Yes, FolkArt Enamels Frosted Glass Paint can be used on outdoor surfaces once cured, providing the surface itself can withstand outdoor elements.
How long does it take FolkArt Enamels Frosted Glass Paint to dry and cure?

FolkArt Enamels Frosted Glass Paint dries to the touch within 1–2 hours, depending on thickness of application; when using heavier applications of paint or working in a high humidity area, the paints can take longer to dry. Once dry, your glass surface must be baked in the oven to fully cure the paint to the surface.

How much paint should I add to the FolkArt® Enamels Frost Medium?
Mix one part Frost Medium and one part paint. We recommend that you mix more than you think you will need to ensure color and texture consistency for your entire project.
How can I create a transparent look with FolkArt® Enamels?
FolkArt Enamels dry to a translucent to opaque finish. However, if you’d like to create a more transparent look, combine one part FolkArt Enamels with one part FolkArt Clear Medium. Paint as normal.
On what types of surfaces can I use FolkArt Enamels Frosted Glass Paint?

Many surfaces can be decorated with FolkArt Enamels Frosted Glass Paint: glassware, clear acrylic, clear Lucite, clear rigid plastics, mirrors, and glazed ceramics. Surfaces such as clear acrylic, Lucite, and rigid plastic should be decorated and kept for decorative purposes only, as these surfaces cannot be baked to cure the paint to the surface; moreover, these surfaces should also be cleaned with a damp rag only.

Are FolkArt Enamels really dishwasher-safe?
Yes, you can wash your painted pieces with FolkArt Enamels in the dishwasher without chipping, cracking, or fading after first curing it in the oven by following the directions below:
  1. Allow painted item to dry for 24 hours to be sure all layers of paint have dried.
  2. Place project in a cool oven, as the glass must heat gradually with the oven to avoid breakage; do not place glass in a hot oven.
  3. Set oven temperature to 350ºF.
  4. Once temperature has reached 350ºF, allow the project to bake for 30 minutes.
  5. After 30 minutes, turn the oven off and let glass cool down completely before removing from the oven.
  6. Do not use for 72 hours.
