Can FolkArt® Outdoor™ be used with other paint products?

No, mixing FolkArt® Outdoor™ with other paint polymers will compromise the color, durability and other key features of the paint. Water should not be used with FolkArt® Outdoor™. Adding water will interfere with the durability and paint adhesion properties.

Can FolkArt Glitterific Paint be used with other paint products? 

No, direct mixing of FolkArt Glitterific Paint with other paint products is not recommended, as it will compromise the color, the finish, and the glittery effect of the paint

Can FolkArt Brush Lettering Paint be used on outdoor surfaces?

Yes, FolkArt Brush Lettering Paint can be used on outdoor surfaces; however, make sure to seal the project once dried and cured. Otherwise, the metallic finishes will tarnish and become dull when exposed to outdoor elements.

How should I apply FolkArt® Texture Paint?

FolkArt® Texture Paint can be applied with a palette knife, a paint brush or a stencil brush. When using a paint brush or stencil brush, use a dabbing motion to get the most textured effect.

Can FolkArt® Texture Paint be applied to a flexible surface?

FolkArt® Texture Paint should not be applied to flexible surfaces because it may crack.

If FolkArt Brush Lettering Paint has settled in the bottle, should it be shaken prior to using it?

Yes, before using, shake or stir Brush Lettering Paint well to mix until the color is uniform.

Do I have to seal FolkArt® Texture Paint?

No, it is self sealing. If it will be exposed to the elements outdoors, it should be sealed with FolkArt® Outdoor Varnish.

Should I “scrub” the FolkArt® Fabric™ Brush-on Paint into the fabric while painting?

When applying the paint, use enough brush pressure to press the FolkArt® Fabric™ Brush-on paint into the fabric, by doing this, you will increase the adhesion of the paint to the fabric.

What is the dry time/cure time for FolkArt® Chalkboard Paint?

Dry time between coats is 1 hour and cure time is 24 hours depending on humidity.

Can I basecoat with FolkArt® Outdoor™ paint?

Yes. If you are basecoating concrete, for example for a bird bath or statue, a lime neutralizer is needed. Household vinegar works fine. Coat the concrete with vinegar, let it dry, wash it off, dry thoroughly, then it's ready to paint. It is not ideal to basecoat a large co...
