How long does it take FolkArt Brush Lettering Paint to dry and cure?

FolkArt Brush Lettering Paint takes up to an hour to dry completely and takes approximately 48 hours to cure on a surface.

What are FolkArt® Shinys?

FolkArt® Shinys are a line of high gloss paints that are heavily pigmented just like the original FolkArt® Acrylics. They were created to allow consumers to achieve a “shiny” finish without applying a varnish or sealer.

Does FolkArt Home Decor Chalk paint contain latex?

Plaid does not use any natural rubber latex in any of its current paint products. Plaid’s paint products are manufactured using synthetic acrylic resins.

Does FolkArt Home Decor Texture Chalk paint contain latex?

No, FolkArt Home Decor Texture Chalk does not contain latex; like all other Plaid’s paint products, they’re manufactured using synthetic acrylic resins.

Can I use water to thin FolkArt Color Shift Acrylic Paint?

No, although FolkArt Color Shift Acrylic Paint is water-based, the use of water to thin the paint is not recommended as it will reduce the adhesion properties of the paint.  

Can I mix FolkArt® Chalkboard Paint with water, mediums or acrylic paints?

No, FolkArt® Chalkboard Paint should not be mixed with water, mediums or other acrylic paints. Mixing with anything other than other FolkArt® Chalkboard Paints will destroy the properties that make the paint work as a chalkboard surface.

Is FolkArt Multi-Surface Satin Acrylic Paint food safe?

Although the paint is non-toxic, it should never come in contact with food. When painting a glass, keep painted design below 8/10" or 2 cm from the lip; and when painting plates, paint only on the rim of the plate that will not come in contact with food or reverse glass pain...

Is it better to apply thin coats or thick coats of the FolkArt® Chalkboard Paint?

It is best to apply several thin coats of paint, allowing the paint to dry between coats.

Is FolkArt Multi-Surface Satin Paint permanent on glass or ceramics?

The paint is developed with extra adhesive properties making it a perfect paint for glass painting without using a primer or sealer. To ensure extra durability, it is recommended that painted glass/ceramics be cured by baking.
