After you have applied paint to a section, hold the pointed end of the metal combing tool perpendicular to the glass and "comb" or stroke back and forth quickly in straight lines through the paint creating a smooth grain. Do not over comb or paint will run. Clean the tool between colors.
How do I get a marbleized appearance to my Gallery Glass® Window Color™?
To marbleize, apply the main color first. While still wet, place dots of a contrasting color randomly in the section of the design. Swirl the background color around and through the dots with a combing tool. Do not mix colors completely.

For a smooth frosted look, dab Clear Frost paint on the surface with a bristle brush, covering the section with a thin coat. Brush the paint up into the leading to seal it in place. The frosted look will appear as the paint dries.

- If you have access to the outside of the window, tape the pattern to the back. Trace the lines of the pattern onto the inside of the window with a china marker or sharp crayon.
- If access to your window is not convenient, transfer the pattern onto the glass with transfer paper by taping the darkest side of the transfer paper against the inside of the glass and place your pattern face up on top of it. Trace the lines of the pattern firmly with a pencil.
How do you use crystal beads with Gallery Glass®?
Delicate clear glass beads add glittering texture to Window Color™ while letting the brilliant color shine through.
After you have painted your artwork in the desired Window Colors and it is thoroughly dry, paint an even coat of Crystal Clear over the areas where you want to apply beads.
Sprinkle even, single layer of beads over wet Crystal Clear. Let dry.
When dry, the original Window Color shines through.
How can I get rid of the bubbles in my bottles of Gallery Glass Window Color?
It is best to store your bottles of Gallery Glass Window Color upside-down. This way any air in the bottle will move to the bottom, ensuring that there are no bubbles in the actual paint.
Why does the Gallery Glass® Window Color™ in my bottle seem thin and have lots of bubbles?
Do not shake Window Color™ bottles. It does not need mixing and shaking will thin it too much for vertical application. If a quantity of bubbles is visible in a bottle, tap it firmly on the table a few times to remove them. If a bottles does get shaken up, allow it to rest overnight before using it.
How do I make Gallery Glass® patterns I've created fit my windows?
Determine how many repetitions, if any, will be necessary for your project. Note that most of the designs are quite large and involve repeating motifs, and the section of pattern given may be a quarter or a half of the whole design, requiring mirror-imaging to complete the whole design. To alter the size of the design you can:
- Add border(s) or make the border wider
- Remove border(s) or make them smaller
- Reduce or enlarge the pattern on a copy machine.
How do I paint a globe ornament with Gallery Glass without smearing the paint?
There are two ways to paint these ornaments. The first is to paint one side, let it dry for eight hours and then paint the other side, again allowing it to dry for eight hours. Or, you can suspend the ornament to paint it, holding it at the top to twirl it around as you go. Once you've completed your ornaments, it is recommended that you hang them when you store them. This will help keep your paint from getting scratched or chipped.
