Modern Paint by Number FAQ

Because the paint included in each Modern Paint-By-Number kit is water-based, non-toxic, acrylic paint, it will dry to the touch within approximately 15 minutes depending on the thickness of paint applied.

The length of time it takes to complete a Mandala Dot-By-Number design will vary depending upon the simplicity or the amount of detail of the artwork, as well as the hours or time applied to working on it.  Mandala Dot-By-Number is a relaxing art form which can be completed quickly over a couple hours or even days or it can be enjoyed a little at a time over a series of weeks.  It is totally up to each individual.  Consider this time as your “me time” to sit down, un-plug, de-stress and relax.  Love and enjoy the creative process with every dot of paint created filling in each design section to create a gorgeous mandala!

It is not necessary, however, for added protection against dust or dirt, a light coat or two of Patricia Nimocks Clear Acrylic Sealer (in matte, satin or gloss) may be lightly applied.

Rinse the paint-filled tool well in a brush basin or container of water. If needed, add a touch of mild soap to thoroughly clean paint from the dotting tools. Allow to dry between uses. NEVER let the Mandala Dot-By-Number dotting tool dry with paint on the ends.
A completed Mandala Dot-By-Number work of art can easily be trimmed with scissors and then mounted onto a 12” x 12” wood canvas panel or foam core board.  You may also wish to frame the artwork in a 12” x 12” wood frame after trimming the canvas to size.  NOTE:  It is not recommended to frame with glass as the paint should not directly touch the glass.  Another idea would be to create a wall banner by cutting two flat wood strips to 12” in length and attach them both to the top and bottom of the canvas that has been trimmed to a 12” square.

Although the black canvas preprinted with white dot patterns measures 14” x 14,” each design once painted, should be finished to a 12” x 12” format.  Artwork can be framed, mounted or attached to a surface, or completed as a wall hanging.
Each Mandala Dot-By-Number kit contains a 14” x 14” preprinted black rolled canvas (that easily mounts or frames to a 12” x 12” finished piece).  Also included are easy to follow step-by-step instructions, three double-ended dotting tools that create six different sizes of dot patterns, and 10 paint pots filled with customized colors for each Mandala Dot-By-Number design.
Because all Modern Paint-By-Number kits are all inclusive, the only extra supplies you will need are paper towels, water to clean your paintbrush, and whatever finishing supplies you may need to complete your art such as a frame or mounting plaque, etc.
Yes, it is advisable to clean the dotting tool when changing colors as well as after each painting session. Simply rinse well in water and blot dry on the paper towel between colors.
Approximately one week after completely painting a Mandala Dot-By-Number project, the paint will be completely cured.
