baby shower banner

Celebrate the little one on the way with a handmade baby shower banner that brings a sweet, personal touch to the decorations. Soft pinks, baby blues, or gentle neutrals create a design that feels joyful and full of love. Display it above the gift table or near the desserts where guests gather. A DIY banner adds warmth to the celebration and makes the shower feel even more special.

Other Things You'll Need:

  • Kraft paper
  • Painter's tape
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Pencil or Chalk
  • Digital projector if available

Instructions:

Unroll your craft paper and cut a piece that is 5 feet long.

2. Use painter’s tape to attach the paper to the wall. Place it at a height that feels comfortable to paint. Too high and you may need a step stool. Too low and you will be crouching.

3. Use a digital projector to shine the banner design onto the paper. A few inches of extra paper around the edges is perfectly fine. You will trim it later.

4. Trace the design with chalk. Trace every detail or simply sketch the main shapes to guide your painting.

5. Turn the projector off, but leave it in place in case you want to turn it back on later for details.

6. Helpful tip: Print the design in color and hang it nearby so you can easily reference the colors while you paint.

7. Use the large mop brush to paint the larger areas of color first. For example, start by painting the entire border area Wicker White. Let it dry.

8. Paint the flowers using the smaller brushes. The small mop brush works well for wider areas of color, and the liner brushes are perfect for stems. Mix a little Wicker White into your colors to create lighter shades for soft highlights.

9. Turn the projector back on and trace the gingham lines over the white border. Use the large mop brush to paint the green stripes and let them dry. Mix a little Turquoise into Soft Apple to create a darker green. Paint this color where the lines cross to create a layered gingham look.

10. To paint the letters, load your large mop brush with plenty of paint by dabbing it several times. This helps create long, smooth strokes. Dip your brush back into the paint after each letter.

11. Use Wicker White using the mop brush to paint the inside border of the gingham for a clean finished look.

12. When the banner is dry, trim the edges with scissors for a sweet banner ready to celebrate Mama and the little one on the way!
