Bachelorette party planning gets a lot more fun when the bridesmaids turn it into a creative night together. Spread out the paints, pick bold colors, and start designing a banner for the bride-to-be. Use a projector to outline a funny phrase or inside joke only your group would understand, then fill it in with playful lettering, glitter, or photos. By the time the banner is finished, the laughs are flowing and the party spirit has already begun.
Instructions:
1. Unroll your craft paper and cut a piece that is 5 feet long.
2. Use painter’s tape to attach the paper to the wall. Place it at a height that feels comfortable to paint. Too high and you may need a step stool. Too low and you will be crouching.
3. Use a digital projector to shine the banner design onto the paper. It is okay if there is extra blank paper around the edges. You will trim it later.
4. Trace the design with chalk. Trace every detail or just sketch the main shapes to guide your painting.
5. Turn the projector off but leave it in place in case you want to turn it back on later for details.
6. Helpful tip: Print the design in color and keep it nearby so you can check the colors while you paint.
7. Use the large mop brush to paint the big color areas first, like the silver disco ball and the white drink glass. Let the paint dry before adding more color.
8. Use a round brush to paint smaller details like the ring band and the pink disco ball.
9. Use your paint pen to add the smallest details last.
10. When the paint is dry, trim the edges with scissors so your banner looks crisp and party ready.
11. To make the fringe, cut strips of tissue paper in accent colors about 10 inches long and 1.5 inches wide. Cut a piece of yarn the same width as your banner. Fold each strip of tissue paper over the yarn and use Mod Podge to glue it in place.
12. Repeat two more times to make three strands of fringe. When they are dry, attach them along the bottom of the banner. Stagger the layers and secure them with Mod Podge or double sided tape.
13. Hang up your finished banner and get ready to celebrate the bride to be!
