DIY hand-painted banner

Your Fourth of July just got a whole lot more festive. Gather the family and paint your way to the ultimate backyard celebration.

Other Things You'll Need

  • Kraft paper or Contractor's paper
  • White colored pencil
  • Scissors
  • Projector

Instructions:

  1. Create your banner design in Canva before getting started.
  2. Pin your Contractor's Paper or Kraft Paper to the wall, then project your Canva design directly onto it.
  3. Using your white colored pencil, trace all the design elements from the projected image onto the paper. *Once everything is traced, you're done with the projector.
  4. Begin painting one layer at a time. Start with FolkArt Wicker White to block in the letters and fireworks. Let this layer dry completely before moving on.
  5. Paint over the white base using FolkArt Ink Spot (dark blue) and FolkArt Blue Hyacinth (light blue) for the lettering, and FolkArt Lipstick Red (bright red) for the fireworks. Let dry.
  6. Paint in the stars, then use your Apple Barrel White Paint Pen to outline the letters and add any final decorative details you like.
