Other Things You'll Need

  • Hello Hobby Bear Jar (available at Walmart - item #41730)*
  • Plastic ornament that fits on the cup lid
  • Sponge or small craft brush
  • Craft knife
  • Drill with small bit
  • Hot glue gun & glue sticks
  • Reusable straw (green and white striped recommended)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Lid Drill a small hole in the jar lid to accommodate a straw. This creates the signature tumbler look.

Step 2: Create the Stocking Cap Using a craft knife, carefully cut a plastic ornament in half. This will become the adorable stocking cap topper. Hot glue the ornament half securely to the top of the lid.

Step 3: Paint the Green Tones Blend Soft Green and Mountain Green from the Apple Barrel Nature Paint Set (OR FolkArt Multi-Surface Soft Apple and Classic Green) to create dimensional color on the lid. Use a sponge to dab and blend the colors for a natural, textured look. You can also use a small brush for more control. Allow to dry completely.

Step 4: Add Finishing Touches Using Apple Barrel Black paint OR FolkArt Licorice paint and a small brush or detail tool, add the bear's eyes and nose. Refer to the attached photo for placement guidance. For extra charm, add a small amount of black paint to create the stocking cap details.

Step 5: Let Dry & Assemble Allow all paint to dry completely. Once dry, insert your straw through the ornament cap and drilled hole in the lid. Screw the lid onto the bear jar.

Step 6: Enjoy! Fill your new Bearista-inspired tumbler with your favorite holiday beverage and enjoy!
