Instructions:
-
Create the tail base. Using a pencil, sketch a turkey-tail shape onto a piece of cardboard, following the shape shown. Measure the curve of the goose’s back, then make the inner arch of the cardboard about ¼" smaller so the tail fits snugly in place. Carefully cut out the shape with a craft knife.
-
Cut the fabric feathers. Cut pieces of patterned fabric into simple feather shapes, using the example shown as a guide.
-
Paint the cardboard. Basecoat the cardboard tail with FolkArt Eggplant and allow it to dry completely.
-
Add the patterned feathers. Following the directions on the Mod Podge bottle, adhere the fabric feathers to the cardboard tail. Then cut a turkey “gobbler” shape from patterned fabric and coat both sides with Mod Podge to give the fabric more structure. Let it dry completely.
-
Finish the gobbler. Attach a piece of ribbon to the gobbler with Mod Podge, then allow it to dry before adding it to the goose.
