Instructions
Checkered Paper Mache Ornaments
- Plan Your Pattern and lightly sketch a grid around the ornament using pencil
- Create 4-6 rows of squares wrapping around the ball
- Refer to the photo for square size and placement
- Start with your first color and paint alternating squares in a checkerboard pattern
- Let dry completely (30 min)
- Fill in remaining squares with your second color
- Refer to the photo for color combinations (pink/white, lavender/white, pink/green)
- Tips for Clean Lines:
- Use painter's tape for crisp edges if needed
- Keep paint thin - multiple light coats look better than one thick coat
- Touch up any mistakes with a small brush
Shiny Glass Ornaments
- Remove ornament top/cap
- Make sure inside is clean and dry
- Pour 1-2 tablespoons of Apple Barrel Ready Pour paint into ornament
- Replace cap and rotate/swirl the ornament to coat the entire inside. Use multiple colors to get swirl designs.
- Keep rotating for 2-3 minutes to ensure even coverage
- Remove cap and pour excess paint back into bottle (it's reusable!)
- Turn ornament upside down on paper towel to drain
- Let drain for 10-15 minutes
- Place ornament right-side up to dry completely (24 hours)
Drying Time: Touch dry in 1 hour | Fully cured in 24 hours
