Other Things You'll Need

  • Small wood crate 
  • Water 
  • Paintbrushes 
  • Sandpaper 
  • Scissors 
  • Mixing container 
  • Paper towels 

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing container, combine equal parts FolkArt Brown paint and water to create a stain. Mix thoroughly until you achieve a consistent, thin texture. 
  2. Apply the DIY stain to the entire crate using a paintbrush. Allow the stain to penetrate the wood for a few minutes, then wipe off any excess with a clean cloth. Let the crate dry completely. 
  3. Select your favorite designs from the Vintage Harvest Blessings Bundle and cut out.  
  4. Add copies of photos for a personal touch 
  5. Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge Matte to the area where you want to place the design. 
  6. Carefully position the cut-out design on the crate and smooth out any bubbles. 
  7. Apply another layer of Mod Podge Matte over the top to seal the design. 
  8. Repeat for all sides of the crate. 
  9. Allow the Mod Podge to dry completely. 
  10. Optionally, add a final coat of Mod Podge for extra durability. 
  11. Use your rustic crate to hold seasonal decorations, small plants, or as a centerpiece.
