screaming goose painting

Turn the iconic look of Edvard Munch’s The Scream into a playful Halloween showpiece with FolkArt SuperThick Acrylic Paint and Mod Podge.

Other Things You'll Need

  • Palette knife
  • Scissors
  • X-Acto knife
  • 8 x 10 frame
  • 8 x 10 posterboard
  • Printout image of Scream painting

Instructions:

  1. Mount the artwork. Use Mod Podge to adhere The Scream printout to a piece of poster board. Smooth out any wrinkles or bubbles, then let it dry completely.

  2. Paint the frame. Apply Treasure Gold to the frame, covering it evenly. Set aside to dry.

  3. Create the goose opening. Cut out the face area of the painting, following the project image as a guide. Make sure the opening is large enough for the goose head to fit through.

  4. Add texture and dimension. Using a palette knife, apply Super Thick paint over areas of the artwork to recreate the bold, textured look of the original painting. Choose colors that closely match the printed artwork, then let the paint dry completely.

  5. Frame your artwork. Once everything is dry, place the finished painting into the frame and secure it in place.
