  • Dowel rod or pencil
  • Ribbon/Strip of Fabric
  • Fabric
  • Scissors
  • Embroidery Floss

Instructions

  1. Print your paper bead patterns after downloading them from Plaid’s Digital Download Library
  2. Cut them out accordingly, making as many beads as you need.
  3. Apply Mod Podge Matte to the back of the cut printout and roll up onto a dowel rod or pencil.
  4. While the paper beads are drying you can apply Mod Podge to your fabric and lampshade, to then smooth on and adhere the fabric to your shade. Trim the edges to fit and fold over any excess creating smooth edges around the lampshade.
  5. While the lampshade dries, begin hot gluing some of the beads together and attaching loops of embroidery floss.
  6. Lay out a ribbon or strip of fabric that fits the circumference of the bottom of the lampshade.
  7. Begin hot gluing the loops on the beads to this strip making sure they are laid out evenly.
  8. After all of the beads are attached to this strip, glue around the rim on the inside of your lampshade. Press the strip to the inside of the lampshade until fully adhered.
  9. While the completed lampshade is drying, Tape off the electrical parts of the lamp and paint green.
  10. Once the base of the lamp is dry, add a lightbulb and your shade, then you’ve got a new bright beaded lamp.
