Vibrant Multi-Color Glitter Vases

Give plain glass vases a bold, colorful makeover with this easy glitter project. Brush on Mod Podge Gloss in small sections, then layer on Apple Barrel Glitter Shakers in whatever colors you like, from vibrant primaries to shimmering metallics, to build a mosaic effect with real texture and shine. Each vase turns out a little different, making for a fun, eclectic set for any shelf or table. 

Instructions:

1. Clean the glass. Wash and thoroughly dry your glass containers. Make sure the surface is free of dust, fingerprints, and grease so the Mod Podge adheres properly. 
2. Plan your glitter design. Decide which colors you want to use and where you'd like each color to go. You can create stripes, sections, random patches, or a colorful mosaic effect like the vases shown. 
3. Apply Mod Podge to a small section. Using a small paintbrush, brush a thin, even layer of Mod Podge Gloss onto one small area of the glass. Work in small sections rather than coating the entire vase at once. 
4. Cover the wet Mod Podge with glitter. While the Mod Podge is still wet, generously sprinkle your chosen loose glitter over the entire area. Gently tap the vase to remove excess glitter, allowing it to fall onto your paper or tray so it can be reused. 
5. Continue adding colors. Move to a new, small section and repeat the process with another glitter color. Layer different colors next to and around one another to create the colorful, textured look. 
6. Let each section dry completely. This is an important step! Allow each little section of glitter and Mod Podge to dry completely before applying Mod Podge to the section right next to it. If you work over wet or tacky glitter, the glitter you've already placed can come up onto your brush and mix with the next color. 
7. Fill in any bare spots. Once all of the sections have dried, look over your vase for any areas where the glass is showing through. Apply a small amount of Mod Podge to those spots and add more glitter as needed. 
8. Allow the entire piece to dry. Leave the finished vase undisturbed until all of the Mod Podge is completely dry. Drying time will depend on how much Mod Podge you've used and the size of the sections. 
9. Shake or gently brush away loose glitter. Once completely dry, gently tap the vase or use a clean, dry, soft brush to remove any excess glitter that hasn't adhered.
