Other Things You'll Need

  • Scissors
  • Hole punch
  • Assorted velvet ribbon
  • Tape
  • Printer and paper

Instructions

  1. Download and print your chosen ornament designs from the Plaid Digital Download Library. Select 4-5 different ornament shapes (round, teardrop, finial styles). Refer to the photo for design inspiration.
  2. Place printed designs on a flat surface. Tape a Gallery Glass Cuttable Plastic Craft Sheet directly over each design, smooth side up.
  3. Using Gallery Glass Liquid Leading, carefully trace all the black outlines of your ornament design. Hold the bottle at a 45-degree angle and apply steady pressure. Create clean, continuous lines for all pattern details. Let dry completely (4-6 hours or overnight).
  4. Fill in the ornaments with Gallery Glass Window Colors, refer to photo for color placement. Use tooth pick to comb the paint evenly between the leading lines.  Make sure each area is evenly filled and pulled to the edges.
  5. Allow all ornaments to dry for 24-48 hours until Gallery Glass is completely cured and no longer tacky.
  6. Apply a thin coat of Mod Podge Satin over the dried Gallery Glass designs for added durability and shine. Let dry completely.
  7. Using sharp scissors, carefully cut around the outer edge of each ornament design, cutting through both the Gallery Glass and plastic sheet together. Follow the leading outline for clean edges.
  8. Use a hole punch to create a small hole at the top of each ornament, punching through both the Gallery Glass design and plastic backing together.
  9. Cut 6-8" lengths of velvet ribbon. Thread through the punched hole and tie in a bow or knot.
  10. Optional: Refer to the photo for ribbon placement and bow styles. Color coordinate ribbons:
    • Red velvet for pink and red ornaments
    • Emerald green velvet for green-accented ornaments
    • Teal/aqua velvet for aqua ornaments
