Now's the perfect time to tap in to the trend of indoor/outdoor living and make your patio, deck or balcony spaces your next favorite room at home! Our design team whipped up a
few projects that will have you feeling like you've just started your vacay with boho tropical vibes.
Beach Boho
To make the
hanging lamp pictured above, we flipped a natural wicker basket upside down, painted it with FolkArt Outdoor Acrylic Paint and added yarn for that textured embellishment we've been implementing into our crafts a lot lately.
The
birdhouse is equal parts cute and functional. Not only will it attract nearby birds to add to the tropical oasis feel of your space, but you can paint it to complement your decor. We painted this white ceramic birdhouse with FolkArt Acrylic Multi Surface Paint in Aqua, using painter's tape as a guide for our design.
The
standing lantern was decorated using dyed strips of fabric and woven throughout the wicker lamp shade. You can also use yarn in matching colors to fill out the shade and add more texture.
Then, the easiest project of them all, is upcycling this belly basket as pictured above (on chair). Again, we used painters tape to line the seam of the basket and painted it with FolkArt Outdoor Paint in Wicker White.
Tropical Boho
Get ready to entertain in a tropical oasis this Summer with these easy upcycing crafts! Our FolkArt Stencil sets really help to transform basic items with any motif imaginable.
This
palm leaf tin bucket employs the FolkArt Stencil in Tropical Leaf, which is repeated over the surface of the bucket. We recommend using FolkArt Acrylic Multi Surface Paint to make this bucket design truly durable.
Get cozy with this
stenciled throw pillow. Achieving this look was super easy and it will be for you too! We used the FolkArt 12x12 Stencil Pack in Bohemian, but pro tip: tape the stencil to the pillow to keep secure while painting.
Finally, the
succulent planter was basecoated in Wicker White then stenciled using FolkArt Stencil in Ikat Motif and repeated around the box. Simple, right? See full instructions here.
Boho Party
We also love this outdoor party look for it's vibrant, punchy colors with gilded accents. To get started, we basecoated a
wooden bowl in Wicker White, then taped off a geometric design before painting in a multitude of colors in FolkArt Outdoor Paint.
This
pillow was given new life by stitching fabric centered down the middle and stenciling various shapes from the FolkArt 12x12 Value Pack Stencils in Bohemian. The large decorative beads were basecoated with FolkArt Treasure Gold in Gold.
The
pitcher and glasses were made to look like a set with matching gold accents at the bottom and handle using FolkArt Treasure Gold in New Gold . A pattern was also stenciled on the pitcher using the FolkArt Value Pack Stencil in Bohemian. Our wooden coasters were made by using the Plaid Wood Burning Tool and the Bohemian stencils on two natural wood rounds.
