Does Glass Etching Cream work on surfaces other than glass?
Yes, Etching Cream will etch glass, mirror, and porcelain, ceramic, marble and slate. It does not work on plastic.
How do I use Glass Etching Cream?
Clean surface area with rubbing alcohol, soap and water. Wear protective gloves. Apply a thick layer of etching cream over the design area to be etched. Note that cream in the bottle may change color and darken but is usable. The cream should be applied in a generous, even coat. Let etching cream remain on the surface for 15 minutes. Rinse piece under running water to deactivate and remove the etching cream.
Does Glass Etching Cream work with Adhesive Silkscreens and Adhesive Stencils?
Yes, etching cream works beautifully with both adhesive silkscreens and adhesive stencils. Rub screens to secure design tightly to surface. Taping off areas not intended to be etched is a good idea when using silkscreens or stencils to prevent etching cream from spreading.
Will Glass Etching Cream etch my sink?
Etching Cream will permanently etch all glazed surfaces so avoid letting the cream touch any area that you do not want etched, including porcelain, ceramic or marble sinks. Water deactivates the etching cream. It is best to rinse etching cream in a stainless steel or fiberglasss sink.
Is Glass Etching Cream dishwasher safe?
Yes, once your project has been etched, it is safe to run through the dishwasher. We recommend top rack dishwashing.
Are there any Glass Etching Cream precautions?
Please refer to package label for additional precautions. Avoid skin contact and ingestion. Wash hands immediately after use. Keep out the reach of children.
