Instructions

Preparation

  1. Refer to the Basic Stenciling Tips for information on using Martha Stewart Stencils.
  2. Prewash all glassware and ceramics in warm soapy water prior to decorating. Rinse well and dry.
  3. Wipe over cleaned surface with a rubbing alcohol moistened paper towel to further remove impurities and possible soap residue.

K for kite

  1. Using Stop Sign Red and a medium dauber stencil as shown, stencil K. Let dry.

A for apple

  1. Apply stencil tape around the cup 1” from the bottom. Paint Deep Sea Blue below the tape line using a foam pouncer. Let dry.
  2. Lightly score tape edge with a craft knife before carefully removing the stencil tape.
  3. Stencil “A” Deep Sea Blue and the apple Stop Sign Red. Let dry.

M for mushroom

  1. Apply stencil tape around the cup 1” form the bottom. Paint Mango using a small stencil brush. Let dry.
  2. Lightly score the tape edge with a craft knife before carefully removing the stencil tape.
  3. Stencil “M” Mango and allow to dry.

Clean Up

  1. Wash all stencils, brushes, and tools immediately after use before the paint dries.
  2. Cleaned stencils should be stored on the backer sheet for future use.

Finishing

  1. Allow your painted glass project to dry for at least 24 hours before using the bake-to-cure method to enhance your project’s durability.
