Other Supplies

  • White ceramic teapot
  • White ceramic cups and saucers
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Paper towels
  • Container for water
  • Palette

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Refer to the Basic Stenciling Tips for information on using Martha Stewart Stencils.
  2. Prewash all glassware and ceramics in warm soapy water prior to decorating. Rinse well and dry.
  3. Wipe over cleaned surface with a rubbing alcohol moistened paper towel to further remove impurities and possible soap residue.

Teacups

  1. Center the bee stencil on the teacup and press in place.
  2. Using a large pouncer, stencil the bee design Yellow Jacket and let dry.

Saucers

  1. Position the leaf design where desired and press in place.
  2. Stencil the leaf stencil Pool using a small dauber. Let dry.

Teapot

  1. Center the stencil design on the teapot front and press in place.
  2. Stencil “Sweet as Honey” Pool using a large pouncer. Let dry.

Clean Up

  1. Wash all stencils, brushes, and tools immediately after use before the paint dries.
  2. Cleaned stencils should be stored on the backer sheet for future use.

Finishing

  1. Allow your painted glass project to dry for at least 24 hours before using the bake-to-cure method to enhance your project’s durability.
