Terra cotta pot and saucer in desired size and shape, Brush basin or container for water, Paper towels, Foam plate, ¾” Flat brush, White chalk
Using ¾” flat brush and FolkArt Multi-Surface Turf, basecoat rim of terra cotta pot. Basecoat interior base and rim of terra cotta saucer. Allow to dry and reapply for opaque coverage.
When dry, brush a top coat of clear chalkboard topcoat over the entire flower pot. Allow to dry. Reapply a second coat. Allow to dry.
The chalkboard surface should be “conditioned” prior to using. To condition the terra cotta flower pot and saucer, hold a piece of chalk on its side and chalk over the entire terra cotta areas coating the surface with white chalk. Note: if a surface is not conditioned prior to use, you may always see a “ghost” of what was first written after it has been wiped away.
Wipe away conditioning chalk with a paper towel and your terra cotta chalkboard surface is ready for your message.
Tip: Try doodling your favorite designs and label your terra cotta pot contents!
