  • Medium canvas drawstring bag
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Paper towels
  • Container for water
  • Palette

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Refer to the Basic Stenciling Tips for information on using Martha Stewart Stencils.
  2. Prewash all glassware and ceramics in warm soapy water prior to decorating.  Rinse well and dry.
  3. Wipe over cleaned surface with a rubbing alcohol moistened paper towel to further remove impurities and possible soap residue.

Large Bag

  1. Stencil a random design of Scottish Highlands trees as shown using a medium dauber.  While paint is still wet, carefully remove stencil.  Let dry.

Small Bag

  1. Stencil bike design as shown using a small dauber.  Stencil bike Marmalade.  Next, stencil the bike wheels and dog Wet Cement.  Tape off areas that are a different colors with stencil tape.  While paint is still wet, carefully remove stencil.  Let dry.

Dog Bowl

  1. Stencil the fence pattern Pool around the ceramic dog food bowl using a small dauber.  While the paint is still wet, carefully remove stencil.  Let dry.

Clean Up

  1. Wash all stencils, brushes, and tools immediately after use before the paint dries.
  2. Cleaned stencils should be stored on the backer sheet for future use.

Finishing

  1. Allow your painted glass project to dry for at least 24 hours before using the bake-to-cure method to enhance your project’s durability.
  2. Allow the painted fabric project to dry 72 hours and then heat set to enhance the project's durability.
