Other Supplies

Glass jar with a handle, Rubbing alcohol, Blue painter’s tape, Detail paintbrush

Instructions

  1. To create the flowers, we used Spouncer foam paint daubers to create circles that formed the flower shapes. Keeping with the hand-painted look of Day of the Dead items we overlapped colors and kept the design more organic. Clean the glass with rubbing alcohol so the paint sticks.
  2. Tape off the center section of the glass with a wide piece of painters tape. Paint the top section with School Bus Yellow paint and the lower section with Hauser Green paint. While wet remove the tape.
  3. Create the center flower by dipping one size of a Spouncer into the paint colors of choice. Tap off the excess and stamp onto the glass in a circle pattern of 5 dots. Repeat with the different color in the center. 3. Add more painted details by over lapping large and small dots to the flower designs. Border the yellow and green color blocks with black dots.
  4. Allow to dry and heat set per the bottle instructions.

Tip: Cut sponges into shapes to create your own painting stamps.
