Other Supplies

White glazed ceramic bowls, Waxed paper, Tin cans or disposable cups, Paper towels, Rubbing alcohol

Instructions

  1. Prepare each bowl before pouring by washing them in warm, soapy water. Rinse well and allow to dry. Next, wipe the exterior of each bowl with a paper towel moistened with rubbing alcohol to ensure that the bowls are thoroughly clean and free of any soap residue.
  2. Protect your work surface by laying a sheet of waxed paper over it.
  3. Working one ceramic bowl at a time, select your desired FolkArt Pre-mixed color combination. The inspiration shown here includes a bowl marbled with Blue and White; one with Aqua and White; and one with Hot Pink, Orange, and White.
  4. Using the Direct Pour Technique, squeeze a small amount of White onto the rim area of the bowl while holding it over the waxed paper. Working quickly and while still wet, squeeze a small amount of Blue on the rim area too. Gently tilt the bowl from side to side, allowing the paints to swirl and create marbleized patterns. Continue until the border is created to your liking.
  5. Carefully set each bowl upside-down over a tin can or disposable cup, which will keep the bowl edges off of the work surface while the paint dries.
  6. The paint will dry within 24 hours and will be cured within 48 hours. Once cured, spray the painted bowls with FolkArt Clear Acrylic Sealer.
NOTE: FolkArt Marbling is not dishwasher-safe; all glazed ceramic or glass surfaces should be kept for decorative purposes only.
