Five (5) assorted printed fabrics – ½ yd each, Two (2) solid fabric pieces – ⅛ yd each, Sewing machine and matching thread, Ruler, Scissors, Iron, 14” pillow form, Nine (9) yds of ⅝” ribbon, Spool ⅛” black ribbon, Spool 1 ½” white ribbon, One spool of 4” ribbon, Fabric glue

Instructions

Instructions for Quilt:  

  1. Complete all stitching and quilting of the quilt blocks first.
  2. Machine stitch ?” ribbon down the center and between the quilt blocks.
  3. Cut two strips 4 ½” wide x the length of the quilt out of print fabric. With right sides together, sew one strip to right side and one to the left side with a ½” seam.
  4. Cut two strips 4 ½” x the width of quilt, including the side boarders in this measurement. With right sides together, sew one strip to top and bottom with a ½” seam.
  5. Fold borders in half, turn under raw edge ¼” and stitch down.

Instructions for Pillow:

  1. Cut one 15”x15” square for the pillow back from printed fabric.
  2. Cut two pieces of print fabric 4” x 44” and sew together to make a circular piece (4” x 88”).
  3. Turn under one edge ¼” and press. Fold this same edge under ¼” again and stitch.
  4. On opposite raw edge, gather and sew (fitting ruffle to quilt block), right sides together to quilt block with a ½” seam.
  5. Sew pillow back to quilt block by placing right sides together and sew with a ½” seam. Leaving and opening on one side to insert pillow form. Turn right-side out and insert pillow form. Stitch opening closed.

Instructions for Valence:

  1. Cut 30 circles measuring 3 ½” across from various print and solid fabrics. Stitch each circle together with a ½” seam. Leave an opening for turning right-side out and press. You will now have 15 circles.
  2. Cut nine 4" x 7" strips from print fabric. Fold in half lengthwise and sew with a ½” seam. Turn and press. Fold in half lengthwise and stitch to top of quilt block—one tab on each end and one in the center of the quilt block.
  3. Arrange five circles along the bottom of each quilt block so that they become scallops and stitch in place.

Instructions for Growth Chart:

  1. Cut three 4" x 7" strips from print fabric. Fold in half lengthwise and sew with a ½” seam. Turn and press. Fold in half lengthwise and stitch to top of quilt block—one tab on each end and one in the center of the quilt block.
  2. Cut measurement marks from the ?” black ribbon: 24 pieces measuring 1” long and 24 pieces measuring ½” long. Mark inch and half-inch increments on the white 1 ½” ribbon and use fabric glue to apply the ?” black ribbon pieces.
  3. Fold one end of 4” ribbon to a center point and press. Stitch edge along point.
  4. Center white ribbon with inch marks on to center of 4” ribbon and stitch in place.
  5.  Center and stitch 4” ribbon to bottom on quilt block.
