  • Craft knife
  • Paper towels
  • Container for water
  • Palette

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Refer to the Basic Stenciling Tips for information on using Martha Stewart Stencils.
  2. Prewash all glassware and ceramics in warm soapy water prior to decorating.  Rinse well and dry.
  3. Wipe over cleaned surface with a rubbing alcohol moistened paper towel to further remove impurities and possible soap residue.

Canisters

  1. Stencil geometric border designs on each canister. Stencil Wild Blueberry, Porcelain Doll and Metallic Copper using either a pouncer or dauber. Repeat design around the entire canister. Allow to dry completely.

Wood Cooking Utensils

  1. Using stencil tape, mask off a horizontal border on the handle.
  2. Paint above the tape line Chipotle using a medium pouncer. Allow to dry and then reapply for opaque coverage. Let dry completely.

Clean Up

  1. Wash all stencils, brushes, and tools immediately after use before the paint dries.
  2. Cleaned stencils should be stored on the backer sheet for future use.

Finishing

  1. Allow your painted glass project to dry for at least 24 hours before using the bake-to-cure method to enhance your project’s durability.
