Other Supplies

Scissors, Non acid free book pages, Lemon juice, Heat gun, Brush basin, Paper towels, Rubbing alcohol, Foam plates, Recycled bottles, Pencil, Wax paper, Shallow bowl

Instructions

  1. Wash bottles in mild soap and water. Dry and wipe with rubbing alcohol to remove any left over residue.
  2. Place bottles on wax paper. Mix equal parts of Beetle Black and satin spray medium as directed on box. Apply several coats to bottles allowing drying time between coats. Let dry.
  3. Trace and cut out label patterns from book pages. Fill a shallow bowl with lemon juice. Dip label in juice and carefully heat with heat gun until desired browning or ageing is achieved. Repeat process with each label.
  4. Referring to photo, apply stencil images and words to labels with dauber in Beetle Black.
  5. Seal front of label with Matte finish and let dry.
  6. Brush the back of each label with Matte finish and place onto bottles. Place a piece of wax paper over label and smooth firmly with fingers to remove any bubbles.
  7. Seal front of label with Matte finish.

Tip: For more color, use colored card stock or paper for labels. To age with lemon juice, paper must be non-acid free.
