Instructions

Preparation

  1. Refer to the Basic Stenciling Tips for information on using Martha Stewart Stencils.
  2. Prewash all glassware and ceramics in warm soapy water prior to decorating. Rinse well and dry.
  3. Wipe over cleaned surface with a rubbing alcohol moistened paper towel to further remove impurities and possible soap residue.
  4. Wash and dry the fabric napkin. Press with iron.

Napkin

  1. In small bowl mix two cups water with one tablespoon Beach Glass. Mix until paint is dissolved.
  2. Immerse fabric napkin into water to saturate it completely.  Remove from water and then hang to dry.
  3. When completely dry, press smooth using an iron.
  4. Stencil Rose Pink and Meyer Lemon designs onto fabric in an overall pattern using a stencil brush.

Wood Spoons

  1. Using stencil tape, horizontally mask the spoon handles as shown.
  2. With a small pouncer, paint below the tape line Party Streamer. Let dry then carefully remove tape.

Bowls

  1. Using stencil tape, mask horizontally around the bowl bottoms. Using a stencil brush and Splatter Glitter Sprinkles, pounce below the tape.  Let dry and then reapply a second coat. Let dry completely.
  2. Score along the tape edge with a craft knife before carefully removing the tape.
  3. Stencil Rose Pink “Stay Cool” and Party Streamer “You’re So Sweet” using a small dauber.

Clean Up

  1. Wash all stencils, brushes, and tools immediately after use before the paint dries.
  2. Cleaned stencils should be stored on the backer sheet for future use.

Finishing

  1. Allow your painted glass project to dry for at least 24 hours before using the bake-to-cure method to enhance your project’s durability.
  2. Allow the painted fabric project to dry 72 hours and then heat set to enhance the project's durability.
