Other Supplies

Clean and soft cloth, White craft glue, 1” wood knobs (5), 2” wood knobs (2), Scrapbooking paper of your choice (3 sheets), Coordinating ribbon

Instructions

  1. Separate the three stacking boxes and set the lids aside. Using the FA Stains, paint the bottoms of the boxes as follows: Large – Maple Medium – Oak Small – Mahogany
  2. Paint one of the large 2’ wood knobs Oak and the other Maple.
  3. Paint the five 1” wood knobs Mahogany.
  4. Paint the lids of the boxes as follows and then allow to dry: Large – Forest Moss Medium – Real Brown Small – Pueblo
  5. While the boxes and lids are drying, cut a 2” strip from each of the three scrapbooking papers. Make sure that the strips fit around the boxes – if they do not, cut additional strips.
  6. Cut a 3” square from each of the three scrapbooking papers.
  7. Apply the 3” squares of scrapbooking papers to the lids using Mod Podge. Apply the 2” strips around the centers of the box bottoms using the Mod Podge. Piece the papers together at the edges if you have to. When you are finished adhering the papers, allow to dry. Apply at least two coats of Mod Podge to the entire surface and allow to dry.
  8. Glue the coordinating knobs to the lid of each box using white craft glue.
  9. Cut lengths of coordinating ribbon and glue around the box lid edges as shown in the photo.
  10. Allow project to dry for at least 24 hours before using.
  11. Tip: The FolkArt Acrylic colors used here were selected because they coordinate with the scrapbooking papers and ribbons. Choose three FolkArt Acrylic colors that coordinate with the papers that you are using!
