  • Container for water
  • Palette
  • Cardboard

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Refer to the Basic Stenciling Tips for information on using Martha Stewart Stencils.

Boot Crate

  1. Paint inside of crate Snowball using a large flat brush. Let dry.
  2. Paint outside of crate and top edge Fishtank Blue using the same large flat brush. Let dry.
  3. If desired, sand rough areas smooth using fine grit sandpaper, then reapply a second coat of paint. Allow to dry.
  4. Stencil stars using Snowball and moon Banana as shown using daubers. Let dry.

Umbrella

  1. Open umbrella, and while working one section at a time, place cardboard under the section to be stenciled. For stability, work against a hard surface.
  2. Position the rainbow stencil where desired and tape in place.
  3. Stencil the rainbow design Strawberry, Orange Floatie, Banana, and Fishtank Blue using the smallest dauber.
  4. Repeat rainbow designs as shown around entire umbrella with colors shown or as desired.

Clean Up

  1. Wash all brushes, and tools immediately after use before the paint dries.
  2. Let paint dry on paper stencils, do not immerse in water to wash. Store stencils on backer sheet.
