Other Supplies

  • Unfinished wood dresser (with 3 large drawers)
  • Natural canvas toy hamper
  • Fine grit sandpaper
  • Paper towels
  • Container for water
  • Palette

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Refer to the Basic Stenciling Tips for information on using Martha Stewart Stencils.

Dresser

  1. Using large flat brush, paint first drawer Pink Taffy, then allow to dry.
  2. The second drawer is painted Pink Tutu with the same large flat brush. Let dry.
  3. Paint third drawer Jungle Green. Let dry.
  4. Paint knobs to match each drawer.
  5. The dresser frame or body can be painted the color of your choice. Allow to dry.
  6. If desired, sand rough areas smooth using fine grit sandpaper. Then reapply a second coat of paint. Allow to dry once more.
  7. Stencil Snowball designs as shown using a medium sized stencil brush. Let dry.

Canvas Toy Bin

  1. Using a stencil brush, stencil a Pink Tutu unicorn as shown. Allow to dry.

Clean Up

  1. Wash all brushes, and tools immediately after use before the paint dries.
  2. Let paint dry on paper stencils, do not immerse in water to wash. Store stencils on backer sheet.
