Other Supplies

  • Three (3) natural canvas crates
  • Cardboard insert (cut to size of crate)
  • Paper towels
  • Container for water
  • Palette

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Refer to the Basic Stenciling Tips for information on using Martha Stewart Stencils.

Train Crate

  1. Place cardboard insert inside crate just behind area to be stenciled. Position crate flat on a hard, smooth work surface.
  2. Stencil the train Cool Gray using a stencil brush. Let dry.

Bike Crate

  1. Place cardboard insert inside crate just behind area to be stenciled. Position crate flat on a hard, smooth work surface.
  2. Stencil designs as shown, repeating pattern to cover the entire front section of the crate. Let dry.

Boat Crate

  1. Using stencil tape, mask off the bottom section of crate as shown. Paint below the taped area Kiddie Pool using a large pouncer. Remove the tape and allow to dry.
  2. Stencil a boat and waves Jungle Green using a stencil brush. Let dry.

Clean Up

  1. Wash all stencils, brushes, and tools immediately after use before the paint dries.
  2. Cleaned stencils should be stored on the backer sheet for future use.
