Wine Glass Snow Globes

This holiday upcycle wine glasses into these adorable, unique snow globes. Using FolkArt Treasure Gold and Mod Podge, create little families or villages inside your own personalized globe.

Other Supplies

  • Wine glasses
  • Christmas ornaments 
  • Wooden coasters
  • White yarn
  • Hot glue
  • Styrofoam 

instructions

  1. Place small chunks of styrofoam inside of a blender and crush the blocks until they  begin to look like fake snow. (set to the side)
  2. Paint your Christmas ornaments in your choice of Folk Art Matte and Treasure Gold and allow them to dry.
  3. Paint the Christmas ornaments with random spots of Mod Podge then sprinkle styrofoam snow onto them to create a snowy look.
  4. Hot glue painted Christmas ornaments onto the wooden coasters. 
  5. Fill the wine glass with the styrofoam snow. (How much snow you add in will depend on the size of your jar.)
  6. Hot glue the wooden coaster with the Christmas ornaments to the rim of the wine glass. 
  7. Flip the wine glass upside down, then use Mod Podge to attach white yarn around where the rim of the glass and the wooden coaster meets.

Cool colors are all the colors on the Green and Blue side of the color wheel. Yellow, Yellow/Green, Green, Blue/Green, Blue, Blue/Purple, Purple are all cool colors. All colors on the color wheel can be both warm and cool except Orange.
Transparent colors are thinned with medium or water to create a wash or a glaze of color that you can see through to the underlying surface.
