Cactus Planters with Mod Podge Ultra

Instructions

Faux Cacti

1. Look online to find a cactus pattern suitable for your needs—we used an interlocking design for the large cacti planters and a flat design for the succulent planter.
2. Print out the patterns in several different sizes.
3. Cut out patterns and set aside.
4. Take the felt and place in the aluminum pan. Pour or spray Mod Podge Ultra onto the felt until completely saturated, then remove it from the pan and hang to dry, rotating the felt as needed so that the Mod Podge Ultra dries evenly.
5. Once the felt has dried, trace patterns with chalk and cut out two sets for the cacti and just one set of succulent.
6. Glue the two matching sides together with the hot glue.
7. Dry-brush the edges of the cacti and the succulent with Real Brown.
8. Interlock the cacti and glue in place. Depending on how large you made your cacti, cut a piece of the 1/8” dowel large enough to support the cacti with 2” beyond the bottom. Glue the dowels in place.
9. Insert Styrofoam in the pot and stick cacti into the planters.
10. Glue the succulent pieces together starting with the largest piece and ending the smallest on top.
11. Glue the succulent onto the Styrofoam.
12. Fill the top of the pots with decorative pebbles.

Concrete Planters

1. Cut out a large and small circle to make the flower petals and the center of the flowers. The size of the flower will be determined by the size of the planter.
2. Snip the edges of the larger circle.
3. Spray the flowers pieces with the Mod Podge Ultra and attach them to the pots.

Large Wooden Planter

1. Apply a couple of coats of the Mod Podge Ultra to the wooden planter before adding the floss.
2. Pull out a large section of the embroidery floss and spray with the Mod Podge Ultra.
3. Do not cut until you feel like you have added enough floss Begin to apply the floss to the planter making curves and swirls as you go. Continue to pull and spray until you want to change colors. Repeat for all the other colors.

Small Wooden Planter

1. Cut out fabric pieces to fit planter. Apply a couple of coats of the Mod Podge Ultra to the wooden planter before adding the fabric. Allow the coats to dry in between.
2. Once dry attach the fabric to the planter with Mod Podge Ultra.
